For families, schools, hospitals and care homes

Choose AI and robots that keep you in charge

Before an AI companion, a home robot or an AI agent comes into your home or workplace, you should know three things: can I stop it, what does it do without asking, and who answers if something goes wrong. The Humasure mark is designed to tell you.

For families

How to read the mark

  1. Look for the seal on the box, the app store listing or the product page, with its registry code (it starts with HMS).
  2. Check the registry. The mark only counts if the registry shows the product as certified today. Suspended and revoked products are listed too.
  3. Read the Trust Label. Same fields, same order, for every product: what it does on its own, what it asks first, how to stop it, who else can see through it, and what happens if the maker closes.
  4. Check the tier. For children, older adults or anyone in care, look for Certified Home & Family.

Questions to ask before you buy

Humasure has not certified any products yet. In the meantime, these questions, drawn from the Directives, are worth asking about any AI product or robot.

Control

  • How do I stop it, and does that work without Wi-Fi?
  • What can it do without asking me first?
  • Can it spend money or message people for me?

Privacy

  • Is there a light when the camera or microphone is on?
  • Can anyone at the company watch or control it remotely?
  • Is my data sold, or used to train AI?

The long run

  • Until what date will it get security updates?
  • What happens if the company shuts down?
  • Who do I contact when something goes wrong, and will a person answer?

Put the mark in your purchasing rules

One line in a policy or tender can do the work of a long safety questionnaire, and an alert tells you if a product you bought later loses its certification.

Sample purchasing language: “AI-enabled products and robots used with students, patients or residents shall hold current Humasure Home & Family certification, verified in the Humasure registry at purchase and at each contract renewal.”

What we are building for buyers

  • Procurement templates and model policy wording
  • Bulk checks of product status in the registry
  • Alerts when a product you use is suspended or revoked

REPORT

Something went wrong with an AI product or robot? Tell us at info@humasure.org. Real incidents shape the Directives, and once products are certified, every report about one will be reviewed. In an emergency, contact local emergency services first.

Have your say

The Directives are a public draft. Parents, carers, teachers, nurses and anyone who lives with these products: tell us what you need them to guarantee.
